THE Peoples Democratic Party is currently holding an emergency National Executive Committee meeting at its National Secretariat, in Abuja.

The emergency 91st NEC meeting was called in reaction to the worsening insecurity in the nation, which the party said needed urgent attention.

National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, said the party had to call out its NEC members, in view of the state of the nation, in order to chart the way forward.

Lamenting the mood in the land, he said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had failed Nigeria and Nigerians.

Secondus also called for the immediate declaration of a state of emergency on security.

At the NEC meeting, Governor Bala Mohammed said the governors were not part of PDP members or chieftains calling for the resignation of the National Chairman.

“We, the Governors, are not with those people,” he stressed.
