ACTING Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba, has ordered the immediate-disbandment of the IGP Monitoring Satellite offices in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
The disbandment order was reportedly given sequel to complaints of incessant harassment by the operatives, including allegations that they were operating beyond their briefs in various cases under investigation.
The IGP spoke during his maiden meetings with Command Police Commissioners from the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, including the Zonal-AIGs.
He said the IGP Monitoring Unit would be reorganised and strengthened for efficiency.
