Following a report in The Point some weeks ago, the management of Magodo Estate Transport Shuttle, Lagos, has threatened to deal with the driver or drivers who disclosed the company’s modus operandi.
The publication, entitled, ‘Shuttle drivers seek downward review of daily payback’, explained how the drivers struggled to meet up with their daily delivery. While the small shuttle drivers pay as much as N8, 500, the big shuttles pay up to N11, 500 per day.
Our source, said the management of the transport shuttle had meeting with the workers on Saturday, where they threatened to find out the driver who leaked the information to us.
The source narrated, “They said that if they get the person or people who are talking to the press, they will be dismissed from the estate immediately. Obviously, they didn’t want all those information to be let out to the public because they are making a lot of money”.
The source said that the company’s management saw the paper when one of the drivers took a copy of it to their gathering.
“It was possible he wanted to use it to get favour from them, but he didn’t find it funny at the end of the day. They were very angry; they said they would fish out the person.
“I have the feeling that they would come to your office. They know what they are doing and they know they are cheating us,” he said.
