Eunisell 2019/2020 Golden Boot winner Israel Abia was on target for Rangers International FC of Enugu as they thrashed visiting Dakkada FC 3-0 in Matchday 8 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in Enugu.
Isreal put Rangers in front before the interval after the Flying Antelopes missed lots of scoring chances.
Christian Nnaji made it 2-0 on the 73rd minute and completed his brace in the 89th minute to put scores at 3-0.
With the win, Rangers moved up to the 5th position with 14points on the log while Dakkada stay on the 12th position with 11 points.
They will host Warri Wolves this Sunday in Matchday 8.
Speaking after the game, Rangers FC coach, Salisu Yusuf said that tactics won the match for his team and revealed that he made two quick changes before the interval when he noticed that Femi Ajayi and Esor Achibong were tired.
Femi Thomas was in the goal post instead of their Ghanaian import Nana Bonsu.
Reacting to the decision of starting Thomas, Yusuf said he Bonsu lost a family member and need to get over his psychological challenges.
He noted that until when Bonsu is certified fit to return to the sticks, Thomas who kept a clean sheet will continue in goal for the team.
Yusuf also hailed Christian Nnaji who scored two goals inthe match saying that he will keep growing in confidence with every match togain regular starts.
