THE Senate of the University of Ibadan has elected Prof. Adebola Babatunde Ekanola as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Ekanola was elected on Monday, at the expiration of the tenure of Prof. Idowu Olayinka as Vice Chancellor.
He was, before his election, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics of the Institution.
The newly elected acting VC was said to have scored 275 votes to emerge over four other professors that had been nominated for the VC position.
Prof A. Oluleye scored 80 votes; Prof. Adigun Agbaje, 15; Prof. Gbemisola Oke, 14; and Prof Olanike Adeyemi, 13 votes, it was learnt.
