ALL traditional rulers from 140 recognised autonomous communities in Ebonyi State have congratulated Governor David Umahi for joining the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Chairman, Ebonyi State Traditional Rulers’ Council and Chairman, South East Traditional Rulers Council, HRH Eze Charles Mkpuma, Eze Gburugbala 1 of Ezzama Kingdom, in a statement, felicitated with the Governor and maintained that the defection was a bold decision to launch Ebonyi State into the mainstream of national governance.
The royal fathers expressed optimism that the “decision to pull from a minority party to a majority party,” was in the interest of the progress and prosperity of Ebonyi State.
“We are with you; wherever you go, we shall go, your people shall be our people,” they said.
The traditional rulers assured that the defection had made Ebonyi State a reference point in the governance history of Nigeria.
They said, “The State Traditional Rulers’ Council, on behalf of all the Royal Fathers in the state, joyfully felicitate with the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE, on the bold decision to launch Ebonyi State into the mainstream of national governance by aligning with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
“Your Excellency, please always count on our solidarity in this decision to pull from minority party to majority party which we know is in the interest of the progress and prosperity of our state.”
“We are with you; where ever you go, we shall go, your people shall be our people. This is our token of appreciation to Your Excellency for making Ebonyi State a reference point in the governance history of Nigeria,” the traditional rulers noted.
