THE National Broadcasting Commission has fined three major broadcasting stations over their manner of reporting the #EndSARS protests, which it said was unprofessional.
The NBC fined Channels Television, Africa Independent Television and Arise Television for alleged unprofessional coverage of the protests.
They were fined between N2m and N3m, it was learnt.
The Acting Director-General of the NBC, Armstrong Idachaba, disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja on Monday.
The NBC had warned television and radio stations in Nigeria against reports that could embarass government, incite fear or cause rift, during the protests against police brutality, extra-judicial killings and bad governance, tagged #EndSARS.
