REV (Mrs) Tola Oyediran, the eldest child of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, is dead.
She died peacefully, at about 12pm on Friday, a few weeks to her 80th birthday, The Point learnt.
She was billed to celebrate her 80th birthday on December 1.
Fondly referred to as “Mama Ibadan”, she was until her death, the Chairman of the African Newspapers of Nigeria, publishers of Tribune titles.
The family had yet to make an official statement on her demise and burial arrangements as of the time of filing this report.
