THE Nigeria Customs Service has said that its Area ll Command, Onne Port, Rivers State, generated the sum of N13.1bn as revenue for the month of September.
The NCS said the amount was the highest revenue increase to be recorded in the history of the Command.
“The Nigeria Customs Service, Area ll Command, Onne Port, Rivers State, generated highest revenue increase of N13,106,025,050.24 for the month of September 2020,” it said.
The Command also said that the Federal Operation Unit Zone B Kaduna seized smuggled items worth N360.22m.
It disclosed this in a series of Tweets on Saturday.
It said items siezed included 155 parcels of Indian hemp, 3,342 bags of 50kg foreign rice, 34 motor vehicles and other contraband items in various locations within the zone.
The NCS said the Command succeeded in processing a total of 18,085.96 Metric Tonnes of export activities with Free On-Board value of $6.44m and ₦10.59m.
In terms of anti-smuggling activities, the Command recorded two seizures of 13 containers comprising 400 bundles of used tyres, 100 pieces of motor radiators, 264 logs of raw hard wood, 100 pieces of car fans and four units of bed trailer trucks with a total Duty Paid Value of N99.91m.
