Day 5: Magu applies to IGP for bail

Suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has officially applied to be released on bail.

Magu applied to the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, for bail “on self-recognisance” in a letter dated 10th July and sent through his lawyer, Oluwatosin Ojaomo.

The suspended EFCC boss has been in detention since he was arrested on Monday to face a Presidential panel investigating the activities of the Commission under him.

He is being investigated for gross infractions in the line of duty as claimed by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
