The ongoing supremacy battle in the ruling All Progressives Congress may be getting messier as armed policemen barred the National Secretary of the pro-Ajjmobi National Working Committee, Waziri Bulama, from entering the National Secretariat of the party on Thursday.
Bulama, who arrived at the Secretariat about 10.55am in a Toyota Land Cruiser Sports Utility Vehicle, was among other party officials stopped at the gate by the policemen.
He told reporters that, on enquiry, the policemen informed him that they were acting on instruction and that they had been ordered to seal the secretariat.
“I came here this morning to resume work and met policemen here. They said they have instructions from above to seal the secretariat,” he said.
While noting that the secretariat workers who he said were working for over 16 million members had also been stranded, he stated, “I have called the commissioner of police and he said he is sending a senior officer to see what is happening.”
