The technical committee members of the Nigeria Football Federation have said that the process of appointing a new Super Eagles coach will be thorough and all-encompassing.
The technical and development committee of the NFF will welcome applications from interested qualified candidates to fill the position of the head coach of the Super Eagles in order to get the best hand before the start of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
The committee met to discuss issues relating to Nigerian football, including a review of the process that will lead to the selection of a substantive technical adviser for the Super Eagles.
The new handler will be in charge of the senior national team for the Russia 2018 qualifiers around the corner and the final qualifier of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations from which the team has already crashed out.
The committee unanimously agreed to throw the job of the Eagles’ head coach open so that the best can be hired.
“Even before this is done, the chairman of the committee has received lots of application letters from willing coaches, both within and outside Nigeria. We are declaring the post open so that the best coach can be appointed for the senior national team,” the committee said.
The Eagles have been without a substantive coach since the resignation of Sunday Oliseh in late February and the two interim coaches, Samson Siasia and Salisu Yusuf, have taken charge of the team’s last four matches.
