A nursing mother who was raped by six men of the underworld a day after she was delivered of a baby boy has reportedly died at her Ajegunle community residence in Lagos State.
The woman (name withheld), who was said to have been raped at Ugbonwnkwo area of Ajegunle, reportedly bled to death after being gang-raped by the bandits.
The Point gathered that the woman’s husband and her neighbours had earlier been in a celebratory mood following her delivery, unaware that danger was lurking around the corner.
It was learnt that the hoodlums who committed the havoc had besieged the community a few hours after she arrived from the private hospital where she was delivered of her baby.
One of the neighbours, Kola Adegbesan, said, “They went about raping women and minors. The nursing mother pleaded with them to spare her because she had just delivered and had lost a lot of blood but all her entreaties fell on deaf ears.”
He said the hoodlums, threatening her with gun and cutlasses, raped her. The woman was said to have collapsed in the
process.
Her husband, and their neighbours, rushed her to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead as a result of excessive bleeding.
