A political group, Halilu Moodi Campaign Awareness, has accused Mahmoud Halilu (Modi), the younger brother of the first Lady, Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, of contributing immensely to the loss suffered by the All Progressives Congress in the presidential election in Adamawa State.
Denouncing their loyalty to Modi, who is the founder and financier of the association, Ahmadu Sabo Baban Dako, who addressed journalists in Yola amidst hundreds of APC supporters, fingered Modi as the enemy of President Buhari, saying Modi was instrumental to the poor performance of the APC in the state.
Mako accused Modi of allegedly mobilising each leader of polling units in the state with money and told them not to go out to vote because he allegedly wanted Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindo to fail in delivering Adamawa tate.
“I want the whole world to know that Buhari’s In-law is the main cause of APC failure in Adamawa state.
“On the eve of the elections, Modi called all his supporters in Abba Mahmoud’s house where money was given to each polling unit to go and relax not to work for APC because they want to disgrace Gov Bindow.
“At exactly 1pm in the wee hours of Saturday, Modi chided us to go and relax or if we like, we should work for PDP. This to me is practically anti party and efforts to disgrace our party which I can never accept it, ” he said.
According to Dako, ”Abuja politicians are fighting Gov Bindow for no reason, let people know this well, no one loves and is working for Buhari like Bindow in Adamawa state.
” I’m the ALGON chairman of Halilu Modi group and we are now saying that enough is enough of this blackmail against Bindow.We denounce our support and loyalty to him ,we are now pro-Bindow and by God’s grace, next week (this) Saturday, we will all work to deliver APC in Adamawa State.
“We are working for nobody else than Bindow, he is our next Governor by God’s grace.”
