The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Chief Ralphs Nwosu, has told the All Progressives Congress-led administration of Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his anointed candidate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, to “pack and go” away from the scene of governance for a party with better ideas to take over the reigns.

Nwosu spoke at the campaign rally of the ADC governorship candidate in the state, Mr Gboyega Isiaka, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital recently.

The ADC chief said it was high time the people of the state voted out APC and gave massive support to their candidate, saying this would be worthwhile as it would guarantee positive transformation of the state to an enviable level among the comity of Nigerian states.

Nwosu,  who urged the residents of the state to kick against Amosun’s choice of Akinlade as next governor, accused the incumbent governor of trying to hold onto power at all costs by making him (Akinlade)  his proxy.

Maintaining that the ADC would do everything possible to resist rigging in the state, he said, “It is time to say pack and go to those people there. I say pack and go; the new tenant has arrived and the new tenant has  been approved by the people of Ogun State; not by rigging, not by ballot buying but through clear people’s mandate.

“So with our votes, we will say pack and go. He has been senator for four years and then governor for eight years; now he wants to install somebody, does Ogun State belong to him?”

Nwosu, however, admonished the people of the state to save themselves from the whims of the APC and APM and vote for the ADC candidates, whom he said,  would transform the state.

Isiaka appealed to the people of the state to cast their votes for him, noting that he would ensure quality education, roads,  bridges, health care delivery, agriculture and more.

He, therefore, restated his party’s readiness to kick against manipulation or rigging in the forthcoming election and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to play the role of independent arbiter in the March 2 election.

He also urged the people of the state to  collect their Permanent Voter’s Cards in order to exercise their voting rights and wait behind for the counting and announcement of results before leaving the polling centres.

“Our objective is very simple and straight forward; we want a greater Ogun State; greater in quality of education, greater in road network and greater in opportunity to the youths. We shall ensure our health, look into agriculture as well as explore other opportunities and potentials.” he said.
