As reactions continue to trail the suspension of the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, a former governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State, Shuaib Yaman, has called on the suspended CJN to resign and lay good precedence with a view to stimulating reforms in the judicial system.
Yaman made the call on the sidelines of the APC campaign rally in Patigi Local Gvernment Area of the state.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari had done the needful with the suspension of CJN, saying he could approach the Court if not satisfied.
Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of APC in Kwara State, Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq, has promised a new lease of life to the people of Kwara State if elected as the state governor in the forthcoming gubernatorial
poll.
Abdulrahman gave the assurance during his tour of Moro Local Government Area in continuation of the APC campaign in the 16 local government areas
of the state.
Abdul Rasaq, who had earlier visited Patigi and Edu LGAs, promised to facilitate better welfare and even distribution of resources to the nooks and crannies of the state.
He also pledged to accord traditional institutions their rightful place if APC emerged victorious in the coming polls.
He said his government would abolish local government joint account with a view to making LGAs functional at the grassroots.
He listed employment generation, via agriculture, and the turnaround of Kwara economy as other areas he would give
priority.
