Kogi gov’s aide sponsors 4 Okun students with N.5m

Special adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Ohere, has sponsored the post-graduate studies of four Okun students from the state.

The National President, National Association of Okun Students, Comr. Jacob Abraham, disclosed this in a statement issued in appreciation of Ohere’s gesture.

Abraham said that the union had broken records in securing scholarships for four beneficiaries with an amount worth over half a million naira.

The statement read, “National Association of Okun Students under the leadership of Jacob Abraham has broken the record in terms of achievement as it secures scholarship for four of her postgraduate students. We secured the sum of 130,000.00 naira for each of the beneficiaries. God bless the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Engr. Abubakar Ohere, for giving us this scholarship.

“We remain endlessly grateful to you and your team of scholarship grant experts, who ensured that the money was judiciously utilized for its main purpose. We commend this selfless efforts geared at promoting opportunities for quality education.”       

He further enjoined Ohere to continue in his good deeds and pledge the union’s allegiance to him.

He said, “You have proved to be a detribalised leader and a father whose arms are open to accommodate all and sundry. While we pour forth our hearts of gratitude to you, we further enjoin you not to relent in your good deeds that are cutting across all spheres for the betterment of our dear state.

“Once again, thank you for believing in the leadership of our association. Our partnership has produced success and you can be rest assured of our cooperation at any point in time.”
