The police at the Kirikiri Division in Lagos State have charged four accused persons to court for allegedly faking Coscharis Company’s product.
The four accused persons, Abonu Ansulem, 38; Sunday Paul Nnaji, 23; Chidubere Eze, 24; and Kingsley Onaison, 25, were said to have conspired and forged the seal of Cosharis and selling counterfeit Abro Marking Tape.
In the three count charge against the accused persons, the prosecutor, Inspector Bassey Sunday, said they did conspire to “commit felony to wit; forgery and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The police also said Anselem, Nnaji, Eze and Onaison “did forge seal mark of Abro marking tape in a way it will be seen or acted on as genuine to the prejudice of Coscharis Motors Limited and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 365 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria,
2015.”
In the last count charge, the police said the accused persons “did deliberately conduct themselves “in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by selling counterfeit Abro Marking Tape to unsuspecting members of the public and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Okubule, granted each of the accused persons bail in the sum of N200, 000.00 with two tax paying sureties, who are their blood relations.
Okubule adjourned the case till November 12, 2018 for further hearing.
