A 34-year-old man, Omorodion Samson, has allegedly stabbed his younger brother to death over an argument in Benin City, Edo State.
The suspect was alleged to have killed his 27-year-old sibling identified as Omorodion Imuetiyan in their family residence at the Blessed Quarters, Egba Community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Benin City.
Samson allegedly stabbed the victim, his younger brother, twice in the neck before he was apprehended on October 7, 2018.
Meanwhile, two suspected kidnappers, Augustine Temile and Solomon Holy, were nabbed by the police for allegedly kidnapping one Ngozi Mba at Ugbowo area of Benin City.
The police equally apprehended a 35-year-old man, Chizoba Okafor, alleged to have been involved in the production and sale of fake drinks.
He was said to have owned an illegal brewery in the Upper Mission axis of the state capital, where he brewed fake drinks for sale to unsuspecting buyers and consumers.
Okafor, who claimed to be native of the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, told our correspondent that he had engaged in the illegal brewery business to cater for his family, adding that the drinks were produced with his own “formula.”
He said, “It has not been long since I started the business because I have a bar where I sell pepper soup and palm wine with my wife and three children. Everything (ingredient) is written on the labels. I am not a graduate; I use my formula to do it.
“I do it to earn a living (because) I cannot rob with a gun. Nobody has complained (about the drinks). They (police) came to my house on October 4 to arrest me.”
Also, some suspected cultists alleged to have been terrorising the state were also arrested by the operatives of the Edo State Police Command.
