Man docked for stealing N1.5M cash

Policemen attached to the Ijora Police Station of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested and arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court a 35- year – old man, Olufemi Ojo, for conniving with others to steal the sum of N1.5million.

The Investigating Police Officer in charge of the case, Inspector Omotayo James, brought Ojo to the court.

The prosecutor, Bassey Sunday, told the court that the accused person stole the money at Better Life, Ijora, in Lagos and committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Sections 411 and 287 (7)of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.

According to the prosecutor, Ojo and others now at large did conspire among themselves “to commit felony to wit stealing.”

In the second count charge, Ojo and others at large “did steal the sum of one million and five hundred thousand Naira (N1.5 M), property of one Wasiu Ajila.”

The accused pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Okubule, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N300, 000.
