it is very possible for our nation to truly get rapid growth, if only we will all be on the same page of rescuing her from the wicked grip of corrupt leaders.
We should not forget the fact that sincere sacrifice remains the bedrock of the just-concluded Eid-il-Adha festival, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim and his son, Ismail (AS). And we should keep reflecting on the lessons of the festival, be truly patriotic and law-abiding.
As parents, we need to continue teaching our children the many gains of selflessness, humility, obedience and sacrifice to humanity because the almighty Allah does not need the blood or flesh of the animal we slaughtered but our piety.
Despite the fact that the Eid is over, we must continue in the spirit of caring for others by providing food for those who are hungry, providing shelter for the displaced and homeless ones, put smiles on the faces of people in sorrow and the needy.
For those in position of authority and wealth, there are many things we have been blessed with that we can sacrifice part of it for the betterment of fellow Nigerians.
If those who are intelligent and fear the ‘Day of Judgement’ are claiming that politics is dirty, then those who are ‘dirty’ will continue to determine their fate…We cannot build a formidable nation without working together; we cannot live happily as citizens without loving one another. Our unity and cooperation is sacrosanct to all round development and growth
It is very disheartening reading certain hate messages aimed at causing crisis among Nigerians, while we should be working together to promote religious tolerance, love for fellow citizens, unity and peaceful co-existence among people of different tribes and religions. We cannot build a formidable nation without working together; we cannot live happily as citizens without loving one another. Our unity and cooperation is sacrosanct to all round development and growth.
We must all be seen as truly adding values to our country. We must continue to fast and pray for peace and good governance, even during the coming 2019 general elections and beyond. We should not just be complaining. For our democracy to really work, we must all be actively participating in politics at all levels. People should go beyond social media lamentations to partake in decision making from ward levels and exercise their franchise by voting people with the fear of God. Those who failed to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC); those who distance themselves from voting during elections are not helping the country. Your vote is your power, vote wisely and shun money bag politics.

Also, those seeking elective positions should fear Allah (SWT) and renew their commitment to serving people with dignity without heating up the polity. And with the extension of the deadline issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Nigerians to register for the 2019 general elections, it is very important that we must all get our Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC), ready.
All Imams in all parts of the country should make the issue of registration for the 2019 elections and the need for Muslims to register as voters the core of their sermons to be delivered in all mosques every Friday.
Your vote is your power. You must make it count. Do it with determination. You may encounter difficulties and inconveniences. Be patient until you are able to register because it is an assignment and a sacrifice for the comfort of the next four
years.
As parents, we must not allow our children and wards to be used as political thugs. Let us always remember that the children of most politicians are in foreign lands enjoying the stupendous wealth stolen by their parents. So, let us shine our eyes. May Allah SWT answer our prayers for prosperity, peace and good governance.
