…explains why he has no wife, child at 71

The Leader of the One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has again cleared the air on the perception in some quarters that his outfit is a secret society or that his Ashram (worship centre) is a dangerous shrine.

Maharaj Ji, revered by his adherents as the Living Perfect Master, spoke at an occasion tagged, ‘Journalists’ hang-out’, preparatory to the ‘38th Appearance Anniversary of the Creator, Maharaj Ji in the World’, holding from July 17 to 26, 2018 at the Maharaj Ji Village on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

He recalled an event of 19 years ago during which his Iju Ashram in Lagos was destroyed by an irate mob, which alleged that a certain Ghanaian was killed there.

I often hear people say ‘Ah, that Guru, be careful with him o, don’t go there; but they should endeavour to ask those who had gone there to tell you their experience. Our Ashram is open to all and the people here are happy people

The event resulted in his being arrested and detained along with some of his disciples but at the end, they were given a clean bill of health, as they were discharged and acquitted by a court of law.

Revisiting the 19-year-old episode, Maharaj Ji said it was an attack from the kingdom of darkness against the kingdom of light and that eventually, the truth prevailed because he came to the world to beam light on dark spots.

“I often hear people say ‘Ah, that Guru, be careful with him o, don’t go there; but they should endeavour to ask those who had gone there to tell you their experience. Our Ashram is open to all and the people here are happy people, people who have seen the light,” he said.

The spiritual leader added that the attack on his Iju Ashram was the sacrifice he had to pay for saving the world from coming to an end on July 6, 1999, the same day his Ashram was reduced to rubble.

He said, “You will observe that Jesus was said to have ended his missionary service at 33 years and fortunately by divine providence, the current Satguru Maharaj Ji started his life-saving mission at the age of 33.

“In the same vein, 12 disciples of mine were randomly arrested after the destruction of Iju Ashram on July 6 and 7, 1999, as my sacrifice to save the world, against Nostradamus’ prediction Centuries back, that the world would come to an end on that particular day.”

Maharaj Ji also explained why at 71, he has still not married or sired any child, saying, “All those who embrace the light are my children.

“Look at the world today, there is a lot of work to be done; do I then abandon my mission and take to marriage and start having children?”

Meanwhile, the One Love Family has set the rules for those attending the Appearance Anniversary. According to a statement it issued, participants must not wear shoes in the Holy Land; they must not drink alcohol or smoke cigarette; they must not talk in the canteen or bring in private food items.

The statement added that attendants must not engage in indecent relationship, women must cover the hair, while women in trousers are not allowed. Besides, it stated that men must remove their caps while there must not be fighting in the
Holy Land.

Speaking on the state of the nation, Maharaj Ji tasked President Muhammadu Buhari not to be deterred in prosecuting his anti-corruption crusade, noting that what the country practises today is “stealocracy and not democracy.”

He warned that he could foresee that political leaders, who persist in corrupt practices “will be swept aside, if they don’t adjust.”
