An angry female trader has beaten up a man for allegedly touching her buttocks at Mushin bus stop, along Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos State.
The trader, Nimota Ademola, who sells fruits beside a filling station in the area, was on her way to see one of her friends, when the man, simply identified as Chidi, allegedly grabbed her buttocks and attempted to fondle them.
Nimota, who was taken aback by Chidi’s action, warned him about the consequences. But instead of apologising, Chidi did not show any remorse as he merely laughed it off.
The angry trader then held Chidi by the collar of his shirt.
Chidi then threatened to deal with her, asking her why she was dressed in such a “provocative manner.”
It was at this juncture that Nimota landed some slaps on Chidi’s face.
A scuffle then ensued between the woman and Chidi.
Nimota, however, surprised onlookers as she grabbed Chidi, lifted him up and threw him on the ground! She repeated the feat! She capped her assailant’s humiliation by holding him down on the ground and fetching some sand, which she poured into his mouth.
According to Nimota, “I held his clothes, asking him to kill me. The man, instead of pleading with me to forgive him, said I should go ahead and do whatever I wanted to do to him. That was why I slapped him. He boasted that if I tried that again he would deal with me, and I had to slap him again. But when he wanted to retaliate, I tactically dodged his hand, lifted him up and threw him on the ground. I then began to rain blows on him. I had to pick up a wood and flogged him up to his face. He was booed by people, especially women, who said that he had been in the habit of doing that to many young women.

“The man stood up and wanted to engage me in another round of fight. I picked him and lifted him up again and threw him on the ground the second time. I then fetch some sand and poured it in his mouth to teach him a lesson. Imagine, I’m a married woman with three children. Why should such a shameless man see me on the way and just grab my buttocks? It is wrong. Although people came to settle the matter, I wanted the police to arrest him. They said the idiot sells clothes by the road side.”
In his defence, Chidi said, “There was no way I could know she’s a married woman because of the kind of clothes she wore. The woman is a very strong woman. I didn’t want to beat her. Even when she was lifting me up I was telling people to observe what she was doing to me. Everybody watched as she was hitting me, but I did not retaliate. If I beat her, people would blame me. So, she believed she had satisfied herself. I leave everything to God. I will say that I looked for her trouble and that’s why I didn’t want to beat her.”
But an eyewitness, Kolawole Akomolafe, said, “The man is a disgrace to manhood. Why should a woman easily lift a man up as if she was showing him to his creator before landing him on the ground? Probably, due to guilty conscience about what he did, he could not fight back. They said the man was fond of doing that. Touching the buttocks of women. The woman has taught him a lesson. Many people are fond of doing that. It is wrong!”
