Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has taken to his social media platforms to announce that he had received a letter from the Nigeria Police asking him to make his defence in writing and not to appear before police authorities.
He said, “Following my earlier tweet, I have received the letter from @PoliceNG. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours, which I plan to do.”

Police cancel summon to Saraki; demand written explanation
Senate President Bukola Saraki said on Monday that he will no longer have to appear before the police for questioning concerning the robbery in Offa, Kwara State, in April.
Saraki took to his social media platforms to announce that he had received a letter from the Nigeria Police asking him to make his defence in writing, rather than appearing before police authorities.
In a post on Twitter, the Senate President said, “Following my earlier tweet, I have received the letter from @PoliceNG. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours — which I plan to do.”
The police claim that some of the suspects in the Offa robbery confessed to being sponsored by Saraki.
