former governorship candidate under the defunct Congress for Progressives Change in Kaduna State, Alhaji Haruna Sa’eed, who resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress on Friday, said President Muhammadu Buhari should be blamed for his action.

He said Buhari, rather than being fair to all, had been employing discriminatory policies to further polarise the party.

Speaking in Kaduna, Sa’eed said he was leaving the APC because “the President has no regard for some of us who contributed to making the party what it is today.”

He is the second leading member of the APC in Kaduna State to leave the party this year. Another chieftain in the state, Makama Rigachukun, had also left last month, citing neglect of founding members.

Saeed said, “I have been a founding member of the party based on the merger that came into being, which led to the ruling party. I happened to be a key member of the CPC, not only being a member but a flagbearer of the party in 2011 in Kaduna State.

“I played a vital role in APC as a dominant player but the activities of the party in the state left so much to be desired, because all efforts to see that things change have gone in vain.”

He accused the APC of being “discriminatory” and giving consideration only to certain members of the party.

He said, “The party in Kaduna had a lot of crises and there has been no positive move to address the crises. I have given my contribution on the way forward many times but never has any action been taken. No chairman, no secretary, no vital leadership in the state. They refused to meet to see that certain things are done and if anybody voices out anything, the party begins to defend what is indefensible.”
