Young Nigerians studying in choice universities across the world have continued to perform exceptionally well in various disciplines. The year 2015 has not been different for these students, who have confirmed that Nigeria is indeed a land of untapped potentials, both in terms of human and natural resources. Interestingly, the composition of the chosen top 10 has given weight to claims that political office holders in Nigeria hardly send their children to Nigerian universities. Below is a list of 10 students, mainly children of influential Nigerians, that have done the country proud:

1. EVANCE OCHUKO IVWURIE JNR

Evance is a 19-year-old United Kingdom-based Nigerian student record breaker. He made history by becoming the youngest first class graduate in Economics, since the establishment of the Royal Holloway University of London, 166 years ago.

2. AHAMEFULA OKOROCHA 

Ahamefula is the son of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State. He graduated with a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester, the largest single-site university in the United Kingdom, with the biggest student community, where a total of 25 Nobel Prize winners have either worked or studied

3. DAVID AFIKUYOMI

David, son of a Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Tokunboh Afikuyomi, emerged, among 16,497 students, with a first class from the Department of Economics, University of Bristol. The university is one of the most popular universities in the UK, ranking within the top 40 universities in the World’s University rankings in 2015.

4. OREVA AMATA

Oreva is the son of a popular Nigerian actor, Fred Amata. He also bagged a first class degree in English from the University of Kent, United Kingdom.

5. KHALIFA IBRAHIM DANKWAMBO

He is the second son of Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State. Ibrahim emerged with distinction in Computer Networking from a British university in the United Kingdom, Essex University.

6. UCHE ANIH

Uche Anih graduated with a first class from the Brunel University, London with a degree in Human Resources and Employment Relations.
