The Imo State Government has warned the Niger Delta Development Commission and the Enugu Electricity Power Distribution Company not to shirk in their responsibilities to deliver quality jobs, especially regarding projects awarded by the Federal Government.
The Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations), Imo State Government House, Chima Uju, gave the warning while delivering a speech during a synod organised by the Ohaji/Egbema Anglican Dioceses of Umuokanne Ohaji.
Uju maintained that the agencies should see quality job delivery by contractors as imperative to facilitating massive development, especially in the rural areas.
“It is a lee way for job opportunities,” he said.
The deputy chief of staff warned that any contractor, who returned to site but failed to offer better contract jobs, would lose the contract in no distant time.
He stressed that all contracts slated for completion as ordered by the Federal Government should be taken seriously.
Uju alleged that poor performance of the People’s Democratic Party-led administration over the years had led to so many sufferings in the country.
