Experts in Information Technology have proffered solutions to the increasing wave of bank fraud, which has risen by 635.3 per cent since 2014.
Some of them, who spoke with The Point, charged the Federal Government to revisit the entire IT security system and tackle it more seriously as well as prosecute culprits over any harm done.
Founder, Mobility Web, Mr. Yomi Adegboye, explained that illegal acts in the country were inevitable as long as certain laws were not changed to block loopholes.
He said, “Government should stop limiting the capability of the experts in the sector by empowering only expatriates. It is wrong for Nigeria to take technological problem to foreigners for solution, because we can’t always entrust our hope in them. We shouldn’t neglect our own people, who can do better.
“IT is the easiest way to track fraud cases, abnormalities, stolen phones and other gadgets. We would have to train people, giving them orientations on how this thing works and implement new policies for it to be effective.
“We can’t keep outsourcing solutions to our problems to foreigners, especially on security issues. We need to train people producing these groups of professionals to outrun these as well as monitor them. The focus should be on software development.”
