The senator representing Ebonyi Central Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation, Ken Eze has distributed some educational materials to his constituents to boost their literacy level.
The lawmaker distributed laptops to some students in institutions of higher learning across the country and over 5000 dozens of customised exercise books to primary school pupils across the senatorial zone.
Eze, while distributing the items over the weekend at his Ohigbo Amagu Country-Home in Ezza South LGA, Ebonyi State, stated that the gesture was to compliment the efforts of the state governor, Francis Nwifuru in repositioning the standard of education in the state.
He maintained that education is key and urged the students in Law schools, Medical students and Engineering students, among others, to remain good ambassadors of Ebonyi State by being more serious with their studies.
According to him, the laptops were in fulfillment of his promise to the student’s body in recognition of the importance and critical role of modern technology gadgets in the present day teaching and learning.
He advised the students to make proper use of the laptops as well admonished the primary school pupils to always read their books, obey their teachers and parents and grow with the fear of God, to maintain their positions in the society as the leaders of tomorrow.
The lawmaker also empowered some youths with tricycles to guarantee self reliance.
