The Federal Housing Authority has announced the suspension of all ongoing construction activities in its estates located in Lugbe, Karu, and Kubwa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the agency said the directive applies to all forms of development within these estates and urged all developers currently engaged in construction to report to the FHA Head Office in Abuja from Monday.
According to the statement, developers must present the following documents, Letters of Allocation, Approved Building Plans, Payment Receipts, and Proof of Ownership, including Consent Letters for property transfers.
Additionally, the FHA granted a three-month amnesty for owners of commercial developments without proper approvals.
Within this period, affected property owners are required to regularize their documentation and obtain the necessary approvals.
The authority cautioned that not adhering to these orders would lead to severe penalties, possibly involving the demolition of illegal buildings or legal measures against violators.
The FHA highlighted that this action is intended to reinstate order and guarantee adherence to sanctioned development plans in its areas, averting unlawful constructions and land conflicts.
