In a bid to ease the burden of transportation costs on returning students of Kwara State University, Malete and University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq provided buses to convey students of the tertiary institutions back to their schools after the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The Kwara State Governor directed the Ministry of Business Innovation and Technology to provide extra buses as free transport palliative for the students.
A statement issued on Monday by the Press Secretary of the ministry, Taibat Adams noted that the free transport palliative is meant to cater for all registered students of KWASU and UNILORIN, who are returning to their respective campuses.
He added that the buses are stationed at Queen Elizabeth Secondary School at Taiwo and Soludero Park at the Post Office, Ilorin.
The statement disclosed that the Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Damilola Adelodun made this known in her office.
Adelodun said that the state government is committed to supporting the educational pursuits of its citizens, describing the free transport palliative as a demonstration of its commitment.
He advised the returning students to take advantage of the opportunity and report to their respective campuses on time.
