A building housing the Cross River State High Court in Ogoja has been completely engulfed by flames.
It was gathered that the fire broke out on Sunday evening, causing extensive damage to the court’s infrastructure.
Various security agencies and relevant authorities intervened to extinguish the inferno.
The cause and extent of the damage caused by the fire are still under investigation by the responsible authorities.
However, the incident has created tension in the state as some blamed it on the crisis between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor and incumbent Minister of Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Nyesom Wike.
