The State House has allocated N15.09 billion in the 2025 Appropriation Bill for the procurement of tyres for bulletproof vehicles, SUVs, operational vehicles, and other cars.

This also includes the construction of an office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants.

Additionally, a sum of N5.49 billion has been proposed for the annual maintenance of the Presidential Villa.

These details were outlined in the 2025 Appropriation Bill released by the Budget Office of the Federation on Thursday.

According to the appropriation bill, the State House, which serves as the executive’s administrative center, is set to spend N164 million on tyres for bulletproof vehicles, regular cars, SUVs, platform trucks, and other operational vehicles.

Out of this amount, N1.1 billion has been allocated for the replacement of SUVs, and N3.66 billion for the purchase of operational vehicles for the State House.

An allocation of N127.86 million has been earmarked for purchasing SUVs for the President and Vice President under the President’s office, while N285 million is set aside for the Chief of Staff to the President’s vehicle purchases.

The Chief Security Officer to the President will receive N179.63 million for security and operational vehicles.

Further allocations include N2.12 billion for honorarium and sitting allowances, and N1.83 billion for building an office complex for Special Advisers and Senior Special Advisers.

The 2025 Appropriation Bill, currently under review by the National Assembly, also proposes N4.91 trillion for defence and security, with N4.06 trillion designated for infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Highway.

Significant funding has been allocated for education and health, with N3.52 trillion for education, covering Universal Basic Education and the establishment of nine new higher institutions, and N2.48 trillion for healthcare improvements and provision of essential drugs in public hospitals.

The budget is based on key assumptions, including a projected reduction in inflation from 34.6 percent to 15 percent, and an improved exchange rate for the naira from N1, 700 to N1, 500 per dollar.

President Bola Tinubu presented the 2025 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, with an ambitious spending plan of N49.70 trillion.

The budget focuses on defence, infrastructure, and human capital development, with a projected deficit of N13.39 trillion, to be covered through borrowing.

During his address, Tinubu emphasized his administration’s commitment to bolstering security and modernizing the nation’s infrastructure.
