The Katsina state Judicial Commission of Inquiry has indicted former governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema and four others over the alleged loss of unaccounted funds totaling about N55.9billion under his administration.
Presenting an interim report shortly after its sitting in Katsina, the chairman of the Commission, Ado Mohammed Maaji, said investigations revealed that Shema and many other government officials were responsible for the loss of the unaccounted funds.
According to him, during its sitting, the commission received 13 memoranda. He noted that while two of the memoranda were abandoned by the authors, three others were discountenanced and one was an advisory, which was acknowledged.
Maaji added that five memos were submitted by the state government officials, saying that these memos formed the bulk of the commission’s work.
