Decency is my watchword in fashion – actress, Dayo Amusa

As far as Yoruba Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa, is concerned, being decent in one’s appearance is very important, be it in the manner of dressing, make-up or accessories. The delectable actress says, “When it comes to fashion, I always like to look decent because your decent look gives people a good impression about you.”

The Food Science and Technology graduate of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta , Ogun State, further says, “I love being stylish. At the same time, whether I am wearing native or western attires, everything I wear depends on my mood. As regards shoes, I prefer heels but not so high heeled shoes.”

Amusa kicked off her career in Nollywood in 2002 as an actress. In 2006, she ventured into movie production and within a short spate of her involvement in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood, she has made a positive impact. Although she acts mainly in Yoruba language films, she has also played roles in the English language sector.

Apart from just being an actress, just like many others in the Yoruba movie world, Amusa is also a producer and an entrepreneur. She has diversified into the education sector and is now the proprietress of PayDab Nursery School in Surulere, Lagos and Ibadan, Oyo State. And she says this is something she’s proud of.

She has featured in several movies, including “Igbese, Aiye mi,” and also a few English movies such as “I go blow my mind,” and “Unforgivable.”

She won the Best Lead Actress at the 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards and Best Film Award for her 2014 film, “Unforgivable” at the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards.
