Nemesis has caught up with a female banker, who allegedly hired a notorious armed robber to kill a bank manager, said to be her lover, after she accused the late father of two of flirting with other women.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim, said Collins December, a wanted notorious armed robber, allegedly hired by the lady to kill the branch manager, was recently arrested, following a tip-off.

“He was arrested in an uncompleted building at Habour Market in Udu,” the police commissioner said, adding that the suspect had confessed his membership of a five-man gang, hired by the lady to kill one Kolawale Tunde, a bank manager.

The three suspects, including one Mohammed Sanni, the receiver of the victim’s phone, were arrested and a cut-to-size double barrel gun was recovered from the notorious robbery suspect.

The police boss told The Point on the phone that the female banker and the deceased victim were indulging in office romance, adding that the relationship had been on for some time until the two lovers started suspecting each other.

He added that the female suspect was arrested by the police after the notorious robbery suspect made a confessional statement to law enforcement agents that the lady was among those who contracted him to kill the victim, who was a branch manager of EcoBank in Warri.

When interrogated by police detectives, the suspect alleged that the female suspect (names withheld) paid him and others, now at large, the sum of N50,000 to only beat up her lover, because she allegedly caught him with another lady.

The suspect said they carried out the operation by beating and stabbing the victim, but did not know that he would die in the process.

However, when interrogated, the female suspect, who works in another branch of the bank in Warri, denied ever seeing the suspect before.

Another male suspect in the matter also denied buying the GSM handset of the victim from the notorious robbery suspect.
