Government has promised to release about 117 persons arrested and detained for cattle-rustling across 11 local government areas in the state.

Secretary to the State Government, who also doubles as the chairman of the committee for the resettlement of cattle rustlers, Mustapha Mohammed Inuwa, disclosed this in Danmusa.

Inuwa said that the decision by the state government to let the detained cattle rustlers off the hook was part of the agreement reached to bring an end to the menace in the state.

The Katsina SSG said that the government took such a decision to let peace reign, adding that government would not tolerate the crisis brewing over jungle justice meted out by some miscreants to suspected cattle rustlers in order not to derail it’s efforts.

According to him, the state government will not fold its arm, but would ensure justice to enable people carry out their legitimate businesses without any hindrance.
