The police in Delta State have arrested two suspects alleged to have vandalised a transformer line close to the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Warri Correspondents’ Chapel and stolen its armoured cable at Gbiaye Street in Marine Quarters, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The incident, according to residents, has thrown the whole area in total darkness in the past one week, leaving them to seek alternative source of power supply.
The arrest of the vandals came barely a year after the NUJ was burgled by suspected thieves, who carted away a 21-inch plasma television.
