Nigeria has called up Olarenwaju Kayode for their friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso later this month.
The Austria Vienna striker has been called up by coach Gernot Rohr to replace Wolfsburg’s Victor Osimhen, who has been ruled out of the matches due to injury.
“Olanrewaju Kayode of Austria Wien has been invited in place of Victor Osimhen, who is still recovering from injury,” the Nigeria Football Federation said in a statement on Twitter.
Kayode has yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles, though he has represented Nigeria at youth level, notably playing in the 2009 U-17 World Cup and Under-20 World Cups in 2011 and 2013.
Nigeria will face Senegal on March 23 and Burkina Faso on March 27. Both matches will be held at the Hive Stadium in London.
