A non-alcoholic beverage firm, Nigerian Bottling Company Limited, was recently in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, with the prestigious National Productivity Order of Merit Award by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
NBC Director, Human Resources, Mrs. Grace Omo-Lamai, explained that the company was honoured to receive the award as a mark of recognition of its ground breaking innovations, resilient operations, resourcefulness, and contribution to overall national productivity and stakeholders’ socio economic development.
The NPOM Award was designed to acknowledge organisations that are self-reliant in their adaptations and application of technology in order to guarantee for themselves cost effective operation and production efficiency.
It also recognises companies that show a trend for sustained increase over the years in vital areas, such as local sourcing of raw materials, capacity utilisation, employee welfare schemes, and social progress, amongst other economic growth factors.
