Nigeria’s Dream Team VI will play in Senegal, in the coming days in the 2015 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, organised by the Confederation of African Football for the under-23 national teams of member associations. The Samson Siasia tutored- side failed to grab gold at the All Africa Games in Congo, Brazzaville, after showing early promise during the group matches.

The question currently on the lips of most followers of the games is: will Dream Team VI survive in Senegal? The same country where the Flying Eagles grabbed the ticket to the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand early in the year. The tournament primarily serves as qualification to the 2016 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament for the CAF, with the top three teams qualifying.

Previously scheduled to hold in the Democratic Republic of the Congo from December 5–19, 2015, the continent’s football governing body, CAF requested Senegal to host the tournament instead, and come November 28 through December 12, 2015, a total of eight teams will fight it out across two Senegalese cities of Dakar and M’Bour to see who gets to represent Africa at the Rio Olympics next year.

Will coach Siasia and the Dream Team VI return to a familiar hunting ground, following a gold and a silver in Atlanta ’96 and Beijing 2008 Olympics respectively, only time will tell
