The Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations and the Senator representing Ogun West, Olamilekan Adeola, has called on Muslims across the country to continue to push for peaceful coexistence which is one of the teachings of the holy prophets during Ramadan.

Adeola, fondly called Yayi made this call in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Kayode Odunaro.

The senator, while rejoicing with the Muslims on the successful completion of this year’s 30-day Ramadan fast, urged them to allow the teachings of the holy months such as self-denial, love for mankind, peaceful co-existence, justice for all among others to continue to guide their conducts.

Adeola prayed that Almighty Allah would answer the supplication of adherents as presented in the month of Ramadan.

He said, “It is also hopeful that the spiritual lessons of Ramadan and the injunctions of Holy Prophets on self-denial, love, peaceful co-existence, fairness and justice will continue in the lives of all and guide us in our daily relations and interactions with people.

“Let us continue to renew our hope for a secure nation and a prosperous future for the citizenry under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am sure our prayers during the past month while fasting will be answered in due course.”

The senator called on Muslims and other Nigerians to continue to pray against the insecurity bedevilling the nation.

He equally urged Nigerians to pray for wisdom for leaders to find lasting solutions to these killings stressing that “the religion of Islam is a religion of peace, kindness, love of Allah and fellow human beings.”

Adeola told Muslims to continue in all the pious and righteous ways associated with Ramadan adding that “tolerance and peaceful co-existence should be a way of life for all of us as the government attempts to find solutions to myriads of societal concerns.”
