All Progressives Congress leaders in Irele Local Government area of Ondo State have given an assurance of massive votes for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the coming primary election of the party.

A member of the Elders Council of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers in the area, Victor Akinfe, disclosed this in his Ajagba countryhome of Irele local council, on Tuesday.

This is coming a few hours after the Ondo Aborigenes Group, composed by eminent citizens of the state, endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa as consensus candidate to bear the ticket of the APC for the November governorship election.

A statement by LACO-FS State Director of Information, Kayode Fasua, quoted Akinfe as saying, “Virtually all the APC leaders from the local government, from ward to unit levels in Irele, have endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa and are going to mobilise their followers to vote for Mr. Governor because he is the best candidate following our assessment.

“We can’t afford to fritter away this historic opportunity of having to mass behind a performing governor and panther to the primordial sentiment of supporting a rookie with no experience, simply because the person hails from our local government.

“Move round communities in Ondo State, you will see evidence of Governor Aiyedatiwa in action, and we are confident that once we give him all the necessary support to get the party ticket, we have succeeded in making the people of Ondo State happy, because that is the man they want for Governor for the next four years,” he disclosed.

Akinfe particularly commended the leadership role of the Southern Senatorial Director-General of the LACO-FS, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, saying Igbasan’s impact in growing the APC in the zone, and in attracting more members into the LACO-FS, could not be quantified.

He applauded Igbasan, who is the state’s Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, for mobilising well-to-do indigenes of the area, to provide logistics for the smooth running of Aiyedatiwa campaign activities in the southern senatorial zone.
