Masari signs 2017 budget into law

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has signed into law the 2017 appropriation bill of N140. 1 billion.

Speaking shortly after signing ceremony, Masari said the 2017 budget had given priority to education, agriculture, health sector and water resources development, among others. He revealed that 68 per cent of the revenue projection in the 2016 budget were met, adding that it was the most excellent in terms of performance.

The governor, however, stated that government would continue to ensure the prudent management of the state’s resources for the overall benefit of its citizens and development of the state.

Masari, who acknowledged that the adjustments made by the Assembly had added vigour to the budget passed, also said that the lawmakers, being the closest to their constituencies, knew the demand of their people.
