The unveiling of Ebenezer Obey Music Foundation is part of the activities that are scheduled to celebrate the veteran singer, who clocks 75 on March 23.The music foundation will be affiliated to Olabisi Onabanjo University.

Ebenezer Obey, while speaking with The Point, explained that he has no intentions to have a loud celebration like a fiesta. He said, “To kick start my 75th birthday celebration, we would commission a Police Post that I built in Idogo Town in Yewa-South Local Government Area of Ogun State, as a way of giving back to the society.

Also, the Idogo Area Progressive Union will honour the Kabiesi and myself for my contribution. I happen to be one of the founding members of the Association too.” On April 3, there will be a church service in the morning at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library put together by Ebenezer Obey Evangelistic Ministry and Christian Association of Nigeria. This would be followed by the official launch of the Ebenezer Obey Music Foundation and a reception.

Obey disclosed that friends and associates plan to host him in Lagos before the year runs out. The veteran singer admitted that if not for music, it would have been difficult for him to do any other thing. “If given another chance to relive my life, I would like to repeat everything that I have done. I have no regrets.

“The greatest lesson life has taught me is that if one could have a relationship with God, then you have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. There is no way you lean upon Him and He fails you. When you need to be patient, God will tell you. The greatest thing is having a relationship with God.”
