The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ebonyi State chapter, Rev Scamb Nwokolo has been enmeshed in N50 million scandal.

Members of the religious association kicked against the alleged misappropriation and constituted a parallel executive body to probe Nwokolo.

A public service announcement published on Citizens Advocate newspaper signed by Pastor Aloysius Nweke Ogah and Rev Dr Ogwale Ogwale announced formation and inauguration of parallel CAN executive for the state following alleged refusal of Rev Nwokolo’s led executive to give account of over N50,000,000.00.

Ogah, in the public service announcement declared himself Chairman of the parallel CAN in Ebonyi State.

He noted that following alleged inconsistent lifestyle of the state executive members led by Nwokolo, the association decided to abandon and avoid the ministers and their cohorts.

Leadership of the parallel CAN executive in Ebonyi State Chapter now include Pastor Aloysius Nweke Ogah as Chairman, Rev Dr (Amb) Joseph Nwibo JP as Vice chairman, Rev Fr Dr Joseph Origbo as Secretary, Rev Dr Ogwale Ogwale as Assistant Secretary and Nwancho N.A.I. as Treasurer.

“Consequently, a new leadership structure to cater for the interest of CAN in Ebonyi State have been formed as follows: Ebonyi State CAN Excos: Pst Dr Aloysius Nweke Ogah as Chairman, Rev Dr (Amb) Joseph Nwibo JP as Vice chairman, Rev Fr Dr Joseph Origbo as Secretary, Rev Dr Ogwale Ogwale as Assistant Secretary and Nwancho N.A.I. as Treasurer,” Ogah stated.

“The general public is hereby informed that due to the illegitimate and unscriptural inclusion of Rev. Dr. Scamb Nwokolo, Bishop Dr. Anayo Ilo and Pst. Solomon Eriugo in Ebonyi State leadership structure of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) with their inconsistent lifestyle and refusal to give account of over #50, 000,000,00, the members of the association have decided to abandon and avoid these three ministers and cohorts,” he added.

Reacting, Nwokolo denied knowing Ogah and Ogwale as members of CAN in Ebonyi State.

He said, “I don’t have anything with them, I don’t even know them. They are not even members of CAN Ebonyi State.

“I can only react to issue coming from any members of CAN, but for them, they are not our members and you can check their antecedents.”
