The first two girls I ever loved in my life didn’t love me in return. I gave all but I felt I wasn’t appreciated enough. The very first one happened while I was in secondary school.
She would not pick her calls and she would not return them. Anytime I queried her, she would say she was busy. It continued like that until I moved on. I met the other girl in the university. During one of the Valentine’s periods, I put money together and got her a big doll. I thought that would impress her and made her to love me more.
The next day, when she saw me, she told me she didn’t like what I got her. I felt unappreciated, depressed and rejected, but I behaved as if all was well. Till date, she does not know how I felt. But we later became good friends even while still in school.
Despite my early experiences at dating, it has not stopped me from showing love. Though I am not seeing anyone at present, I am open to love and I wish there is someone in my life especially in this season of love.
