Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has expressed disgust over the attitude of some health workers, who abandon patients at critical stage of their illness.

Masari spoke during an induction training workshop for newly recruited staff of Hospital Services Management Board held at the auditorium of Umar Musa Yar’Adua University, Katsina.

The governor was particularly not happy with nurses in the Gynaecology Department, who he accused of maltreating pregnant women who deliver in the hospitals. Masari also deplored hospital staff neglecting victims of accidents without proper medical care, adding that they would reap double reward if they diligently execute their duties.

The governor explained that they were employed based on merit and to assist the present administration to fulfil its restoration agenda of providing good health care needs to the citizens.
