Nigeria Professional Football League defending champions, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu players are living no stone unturned to outwit Niger Tornadoes this weekend.

Niger Tornadoes started the league sluggishly, due to the absence of their key players, and Tornadoes’ captain, Mustapha Aliko, is worried that his team may not survive the aggression of the Enugu team, especially in front of their teeming fans.

Following the Ikoh Allah boys 3-0 humiliation away to the Mountain of Fire and Miracles and the 1-1 home draw against ABS of Ilorin, the goalkeeper is confident that his side can improve and bounce back to winning ways.

He said, “I strongly believe that with our coaches, we will get better with each game. We will always try our best and we hope to give Rangers a good fight. Our current team is better than last year’s. We have a very new and good team. I hope we would progress and improve in our subsequent games.

“In the match in Lagos against MFM, we lost eight of our players in our first eleven to non-registration, clearance and other issues. And the draw (against ABS) we played in Lokoja in the second match happened due to ill luck.”
