The Benue State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding

with DAMTECH Nigeria Limited for the execution of River Katsina-Ala hydroelectric power scheme.
Commissioner for Works, Transport and Energy, Engr. Emmanuel Manger, who signed the MOU on behalf of the state government, said the project was in fulfilment of Governor Samuel Ortom’s desire to industrialise the state through the provision of adequate power supply for industrial domestic use and business activities.
The Commissioner stressed that the actualization of the project was
paramount as it would improve power supply in the state, which is
presently less than 40 megawatts as against the needed 300 megawatts.
He urged the company to hasten the process to ensure its quick
completion.
On his part, the Managing Director, DAMTECH Nigeria Limited, Engr Solomon Shomwua, who signed for the company, promised to bring the necessary input and expertise needed for the successful execution of the project.
